Welcome to Kowhai Block. We have New Entrants to Year 1 and some Year 2 students in our block.
Kowhai Term 2 This term we welcome many new children to Kowhai Block. Many students have moved through to the year one and two classes. This transition has gone smoothly and the children are enjoying their new classes. This term we are focusing on children keeping safe in their home, school and local environment. The SPCA is due to come later this month. The focus of their visit is on animal awareness. We have had a police visit to each room to discus strategies to use if you get lost. Our school goal requires the students to show care and consideration to each other in their classroom and the playground. Towards the end of this term we have swimming. The children will be bussed to Cannons Creek pool for a two week swimming programme. Our team continues to enjoy small class sizes, offering a positive start to our juniors.
2010 Discovery Time




Mrs Cole's Class Trip to Cafe Kaizen On Tuesday 2nd March Mrs Cole’s class went to Kaizen Café in Porirua. We had read a book from Ms Souter about a pig going to a café and we decided to go too. Maceo and Tia got to put on aprons and served us our hot chocolate. Maia and David brought us our food. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed showing us around the kitchen.
